'W' Week - I wonder why?

WHEN? My plan last week was to go into London - only 25 minutes to Kings Cross from where I live by train - to take some photographs 'in the street'. Like the previous blog based on the letter 'P', this week, the letter 'W' kept showing up!

The WEATHER, always interesting in the UK, was forecast to be WET. I tried not to let this dampen my spirits and thought, well, lots of street photographers shoot in the rain, so WHY not? I just didn't fancy standing around in the rain, but there were decisions to be made. A WATERPROOF was needed!

As the weather was quite bad in the morning, I decided to go to The Photographers' Gallery in Ramilies Street, Soho; where there was an exhibition of photographs by Chris Killip. This was fascinating. I also took a few shots nearby. What do you notice in the third photo?

WHERE was I going? I had already planned to take photos of the Gasholders at Coal Drops Yard near Kings Cross. Having taken some photos here before, I wanted to spend a little more time doing this.

WHAT? I suppose the theme would be architecture and hopefully people ... and maybe WATER! I might be lucky enough to get some reflections too. Yes, that's me in the 4th photo! I knew that there were cascades of WATER between Kings Cross and Coal Drops Yard. There were also some photographs on display.

I was lucky that people were sitting in front of the photographs. (Quality not good I’m afraid - though the idea was!)

WHY? To practice 'Photography in the Street' and get some experience.

Thanks for looking.
